The Arc of Pitt County has recently opened their RESOURCE CENTER which is solely devoted to developmental disabilities. While our Resource Center is still a 'work in progress', it will become the largest Resource Center for developmental disabilities in the Eastern Region of North Carolina. The Resource Center is comprised of our website offering a Calendar of Events; Resource Guide to services both professional and non-professional; links to other organizations which provide information on developmental disabilities; legislative news; a Lending Library filled with a wealth of literature, brochures, books, publications; and family kits from Exceptional Children's Assistance Center (ECAC). We will be giving Public Forums and workshops on a regular basis with topics on many subjects such as Legal Guardianship and How To Obtain Services. The Resource Center has literature and information on area service provider agencies, recreational programs, and other services you may be looking for. The Resource Center is for the public, service provider agencies, and other professionals who are looking for a particular service or information. We invite you to contact our office or stop by to view the literature we have available. You may find something that would be beneficial to your needs and inquiries! |
